The discovery of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) by Kary B. Mullins in the mid-80 revolutionized forever Molecular Biology. Today, PCR is central research and diagnostic applications in several areas from medicine to industry.

More recently, we developed a new method of quantitative PCR, the Real-Time PCR. The name comes from the fact that we view the increase as DNA is amplified, opening a wider range of applications.

Bearing in mind that technology is a new and still little known, the BIOPORTUGAL created a space dedicated to training and information technology for Real-Time PCR. This space is equipped with the latest platform from Applied Biosystems, the StepOne and other equipment that allows the organization of workshops and seminars.
